An award from the Magnox Socio-Economic Scheme has provided Largs Community Resilience Team (LCRT) with £389 to fund new identity badges for over 60 volunteer members ready to be called out to an emergency.
Sean Marshall, Magnox Limited Socio-Economic Officer for Scottish Sites, went along to Largs recently to hand over the badges to some of the volunteers.
Magnox is committed to providing socio-economic support and enabling sustainability in its local communities. This work is supported by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, which provides socio-economic funding through the contract with Magnox Ltd.
James Bertram, Co-ordinator of LCRT said: “The support that the Largs Community Resilience Team gets from Magnox is invaluable and contributes in various ways, allowing us to respond to emergency situations. Our new ID badges will instantly identify team members to members of the public and that’s very important. People need to know who they are talking to when someone comes to their property in flooding or any other emergency. Without the support of Magnox, voluntary services like us would not be able to provide the support that we do.”
