Chapelcross charity Snowball Fund kits out Blood Bike riders

An award of £250 from the Chapelcross charity Snowball Fund has enabled local charity, Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes, to kit out their volunteer riders with 15 new hi-viz, waterproof jackets.

Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes is a local charity set up by volunteers who provide their services free of charge to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies, out of hours, between hospitals and healthcare sites across South West Scotland.

The Chapelcross charity Snowball Fund is financed through voluntary contributions made by members of the current site workforce and retired employees to support and help local charitable and worthwhile organisations. The Snowball Committee, made up of workforce representatives and employees, meets on a quarterly basis and makes awards of between £50 – £500 to local charities, good causes and organisations that write in requesting support.
