£3,000 raised for charity in Snowdon challenge
A contractor based at Magnox's Trawsfynydd Site has raised over £3,000 for charity after taking part in the Snowdonia Charity Challenge
Chris Weir of React Engineering was part of a team of four who cycled 40 miles, climbed Snowdon and canoed Llyn Gwynant to raise funds to support men and women paralysed in sporting accidents.
Chris said: “It was hard going, particularly as one member of the team had only started biking a few months previously, but there were smiles all round at the finish line. The biggest success of the day was the weather; we didn’t see a drop of rain all day.”
React Engineering raised over £3,000 for the Regain charity and the overall event has raised pledges of over £100,000. The team managed to complete the Snowdon challenge in a total of 8 hours and 21mins.
Chris added: “Many thanks to those from Trawsfynydd Site who supported us”
